Escapade au Cap Tours

Discovering the Durbanville Valley....

Escapade au Cap Tours has recently added a new excursion in the splendid and flourishing northern suburb of Cape Town ... so close to the Mother City and yet, its beauty and merits have often escaped the attention it deserves.
We start the day with the best that the Tygerberg Nature Reserve has to offer: tranquillity, panoramic view of the Table Mountain overlooking the city, its amazing plant and animal wildlife.

Our journey continues into one of the oldest wine estate in the heart of Durbanville. Tasting the various selections of wines produced under the Altydgedach’s label in such beautiful and historical surroundings will be an unforgettable experience.

Our next visit to the Durbanville Hills wine estate, situated just few kilometres away from the West Atlantic sea shores, Is a contrasting picture of a modern designed estate, blending beautifully in the landscape. Tasting Durbanville Hills’ famous top quality wines whilst enjoying the scenic views of vineyards as far as eyes can see , with Table Bay and Robben island in the background , is a “not to be missed” opportunity.

We carry on our journey to the Cape Town Ostrich Ranch, which is inviting us to a delicious lunch inside its old Cape Dutch Styled Farm House, followed by an surprising encounter with some of its feathered ‘hosts’.

The rest of the afternoon is spent visiting a quaint, charming village, lost in the middle of farm lands. Its Magic Minerals shop and its unexpected Pepper Tree Art stable and Coffee shop including its ceramic studio give visitors an opportunity to purchase last minute gifts and crafts made locally.

To end the day, we stop at one of the renowned wine estates of the Durbanville valley, which started making wine nearly four centuries ago. Since 1885, the craft of wine-making has been passionately passed on from generations to generations in Diemersdal estate and is regarded as “the perfect expression of the distinctive Durbanville terroir”.

Cost of the tour: R.1 400,00 for 1 person and R800,00 for additional persons
All sites’ entrance fees, wine tasting, lunch, transport and guiding fees are included.
Tour guided in French or in English

Escapade au Cap Tours offers many standard and personalised full-day or half-day tours as well as other services in the Western Cape.

Cool Runnings - Toboggan Track &

Africa's first Toboggan Track now open in Cape Town!

Cool Runnings tobogganing is the most popular adventure sport hitting the world right now. It's summer version of the thrilling winter sport but on steel instead of snow.

Ride the 1,25km kilometres of twisting steel half-pipe at Cool Runnings Bellville, and reach up to 40k per hour. You control the speed with a hand brake, so you can go as fast or slow as you like.

These bob sleds on wheels are suitable for all ages - even 8 year olds can go down alone, while under 8's sit in the double-seat with an adult.

Great Value:
Rides are cheap; buy single, triple, six or twelve ride tickets which can be shared, or day passes.

Be Cool at Cool Runnings!

Here at Cool Runnings Toboggan Family Park we run a “Buy one get one free” special on a Tuesday during the months of April until November (excluding school & public holidays). For every ride you buy, you get one completely free – this offer applies to single ride, 3-ride, 6-ride and 12-ride tickets.
N.B. Free rides must be used on day of purchase.

Cape Town Ostrich Ranch

For many years the Westcoast Ostrich Show Ranch has been offering a unique experience to visitors of the Western Cape. Situated only twenty minutes from Cape Town's Waterfront, the Kanigowski family have built up a very popular tourist destination encompassing informative tours with a high quality, great value leather and curio shops and an ostrich meat orientated restaurant.

The business is family owned and run, with Gavin and his son, Pawel, on hand to greet visitors. The facilities we offer increase each year, allowing us to welcome more and more tourists, while still offering a friendly professional atmosphere. The farm nestles on the sea facing slopes of the Durbanville hills, which offer magnificent views of Table Mountain and the Hottentots Holland Mountains, an area steeped in local history.
